Daffodil Foundation is to promote policies and undertake initiatives, which lead to the improvement of the quality of life of the people and that of future generations of Bangladesh. Daffodil Foundation is a non-government, non-profitable, non-political, voluntary and charitable society that strives for nurturing high ethical standards, equal opportunity, gender equality, non-discrimination, transparency and accountability formed in 2004 and registered with Joint Stock Companies of Bangladesh under Society Registration Act 1860. Daffodil Foundation focused on alleviates poverty, eradicate suffering and accomplish sustainable development. 

The overall intention of Daffodil Foundation is to join others in achieving national development strategy of poverty elimination and environmentally compatible sustainable development ensuring equal development of women. It also works for the marginalized and underprivileged women, children and adolescents and men of Bangladesh through practical application of knowledge, resources, capacity building and action oriented community awareness. 

Daffodil Foundation’s mission is to develop and provide realistic solutions to the major educational, environmental, health & population problems facing the poor people of Bangladesh. The Foundation focuses on building the capacity of individuals, communities, and institutions to solve their own problems. Daffodil Foundation do this by accumulating together high quality applied research and practical policy advice. The accomplishment of the mission of Daffodil Foundation necessitates the contributions of competent professionals committed to the goals and values of the Foundation. To this end, the Foundation put special emphasis to develop our human resources’ potentials and also those of the collaborating organizations whom the Foundation serves.

Understanding the current and anticipated societal needs, Daffodil Foundation is committed to make its policies and programs socially, economically and ecologically sustainable by employing new methods and improved technologies. Since human development is a difficult course of actions requiring strong dedication to learning, exchange knowledge and proactive response to ongoing philanthropic issues; Daffodil Foundation places special endeavors for its organizational development.

Aiming to achieve its objectives and goals, Daffodil Foundation welcomes and encourages partnership or strategic alliance with like-minded organizations, government and non-government institutions, and different communities of home and abroad.

Daffodil Foundation’s programs and projects are managed by a group of highly qualified professionals, each with specialized skills under the broad leadership of the Board of Executive Members. The professionals associated with the foundation have substantial experience in their respective areas of expertise and are sensitive to and well familiar with the local, social, political, economic and technical environment of the country. Most of the experts have long work experience both at home and abroad and their valuable expertise is an asset to the foundation.

Objectives

  • To convey Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from door to door.
  • Developed the ethics & morality and divert the Human Resource (HR) to production.
  • Awareness to develop law and enforcement security measurement.
  • Awareness and remedy for reduce the corruptions.
  • Remove the social collusion and establish the mankind for social development.
  • To initiate any program for poverty alleviation to preserve human rights.
  • To engage in charitable activities and social welfare programs strictly on non-profit basis.
  • To promote & enhance charity on and among communities and peoples of Bangladesh and other countries of the world.
  • To promote, establish, manage, control, supervise co-operative societies, corporate bodies or undertakings, companies, financial institutions, banking companies and any other institutions beneficial to the people of Bangladesh.
  • To provide relief to the people affected by natural disasters and assist in their rehabilitation and development.
  • To initiate and manage awareness program or campaign.
  • To co-operate, assist, engage in joint initiatives with organizations and agencies seeking the goal of relief, rehabilitation and development in Bangladesh.
  • To establish, run and maintain private Universities, Schools, Colleges, Polytechnic Institute and other educational and research institutions.
  • To print, publish, and circulate papers, periodicals, books, publications, scholarly research and other literary works and undertaking as many appear to be conducive to the attainment of any of the objects of the Foundation, beneficial to the peoples of Bangladesh.
  • To found, build, manage and maintain libraries, museums, public buildings and halls, parks, playground places and recreation & other places of use the students, communities & peoples.
  • To establish, administer and manage endowments trust funds, and other benefactions.
  • To encourage research, investigation, invention, planning and development in any field for human welfare.
  • To provide facilities, to foster, encourage, secure, and maintain good and closer relationships and amity in and among communities and peoples of Bangladesh and other countries of the world through educational, social and cultural activities.
  • To arrange and borrow funds required for purposes of the Foundation upon such securities as may be determined by the Board of Governors.
  • To set up, acquire, purchase, manage and dispose of any business and other concern for the purposes and benefit of the Foundation.
  • To take affiliation from concerned authority for schools, colleges and university colleges on merit and establishment of the Accreditation Council for Educational Institutes countrywide.
  • To establish and run hospitals and other medical facilities for proper conduct of medical education and research and to serve the suffering humanities.
  • To work for women empowerment and to establish, administer and manage a service center for tortured women and acid victims.
  • Provide job assistance and guide to the student for their right career.
  • Remove the frustration of the young and energetic people by which reduce the drug and to make some presentation, multimedia, short films etc. for awareness of realization.

Services Provided

The services provided by Daffodil Foundation include the following major development areas in which it has highly qualified and experienced manpower with sound track records.

Development Programs:

The objectives of development programs are to create an enabling environment for people to enjoy long, healthy and creative lives. The development programs will incorporate the following principles of the development process:

Æ     The development process must put people at the center of its concerns.
Æ   The purpose of development is to enlarge all human choices including, security knowledge, income level, nutrition and health services, secure livelihoods, security against crime and physical violence, access to entertainment, and political and cultural freedom.
Æ     The development process must concern about building up human capabilities and using those human capabilities entirely for growth and employment.
